Ice walks and Ice Bubbles

Abraham Lake in Alberta, Canada, is renowned for its stunning ice bubbles, a winter phenomenon that attracts visitors from around the world. These bubbles are formed when methane gas, released by decaying organic matter at the lake’s bottom, gets trapped in the ice as the lake freezes. The result is a mesmerizing display of white bubbles suspended in the clear, blue ice, creating a unique and beautiful sight. The best time to see these ice bubbles is from mid-January to early February, when the ice is thick and clear. Visitors can enjoy guided ice walks to safely explore the lake and view the bubbles up close. Popular spots for viewing include Preacher’s Point, Abraham Slabs, and Hoodoo Creek. Have you ever visited Abraham Lake or seen ice bubbles before? As a newly added accommodation to our resort, you can now stay at our Bunkhouse to experience this amazing natural wonder during winter time! For more details, click the link below: Stay at Our Bunkhouse [NEW] There is also Guided Interpretive Adventures at the Columbia Icefield. For more information, contact info@pursuitadventures.ca or Call 403 986-6190. Continue reading
